Quiller Watercolors
The selection of watercolors in our line, a combination of which is used in our 12 color and 24 color sets, consists of the following brands:
~ Stephen Quiller signature line imported by Jack Richeson & Company and is made by a Belgian company that has been making paint since the 1860s. The pigment is slowly ground on stone mills, thoroughly crushed and then coated in gum Arabic and honey. Pigments are pure; there are no additives; and the colors are made to correspond with the Stephen Quiller color system. The mineral colors have an incredible granulation, which can be a definite advantage for artists, particularly to those for whom texture is important. The color is pure and extremely lightfast.
~ The M Graham Company of Portland, OR. The watercolors are brilliant, highly pigmented and suitable for all techniques with beautiful, even washes. Made with exceptional amounts of pigment in an old fashioned binding medium of pure gum arabic and natural blackberry honey.
~ Holbein Company of Burlington, VT, and Montreal, Canada. Finely ground, produced without animal by-products or other dispersing agents. This affords greater control in the dispersal of pigments, enhances handling qualities and delivers colors with intensity, purity and reliability for brilliant transparent washes and/or powerful, clean darks.
